Jakarta, 27 Januari 2026 – After introducing the story’s atmosphere with a teaser, production house Trois Films has officially launched the trailer for LIFT, a psychological drama filled with mystery that explores emotional pressure, guilt, and life choices in the most confined situations. The film is scheduled to hit Indonesian theaters on February 26, 2026.

LIFT brings together two actresses with strong characters, Ismi Melinda and Shareefa Daanish, in a story that focuses on inner conflict and human emotions when at rock bottom. The newly released official trailer delves deeper into the characters’ emotions, revealing how guilt, fear, and the instinct to survive clash.

Directed by Randy Chans and produced by Ario Sagantoro—the producer behind Merantau and The Raid 1 & 2—LIFT invites audiences to delve into the inner conflicts of its characters as the consequences of their buried past slowly resurface, demanding accountability.

The trailer highlights a complete, emotionally driven narrative. Tension arises from both danger and relationships built on secrets and unresolved truths. Melinda and Daanish’s performances anchor the film’s emotional depth and pressure.

The film LIFT tells the story of six years after the fatal accident that killed Gabriel, the CEO of PT Jamsa Land, the construction company, which is now being terrorized.

Hansen (Verdi Solaiman), the replacement director, mysteriously disappears. Linda (Ismi Melinda), a public relations staff member, is trapped in an elevator that suddenly stops. With her is Anton (Max Metino), a former journalist who is now a vocal podcaster. Through the intercom, a mysterious voice dictates their movements, threatening to expose Linda and Anton’s involvement in covering up the elevator incident six years ago.

The situation becomes even more complicated when Linda realizes that her son, Jonathan (Luthi Saputra), has also been taken hostage by the threatener. At the same time, Doris (Shareefa Daanish), Hansen’s wife, is also dragged into the terror after receiving a mysterious message, forcing her to come to the office that night. Trapped in a confined space with time running out, Linda faces an impossible choice: continue protecting the company’s reputation or betray it for her son’s safety.

About 60 percent of LIFT unfolds inside an elevator, which becomes a psychological space where characters are trapped by time, pressure, and dwindling choices.

“I didn’t make LIFT to provide answers,” said director Randy Chans. “I made it to place the audience inside a situation where questions naturally emerge. If they’re lucky, the film will stay with them—not as explanations, but as a feeling, or as questions that linger long after the film ends.”

Ismi Melinda, lead actress and producer, addressed the acting challenges posed by the confined setting. “The challenge was keeping the emotional range alive and engaging the audience, despite limited space and movement,” she said. “It was also a creative challenge for the team—the director and cinematographer—to find new visual approaches within such a restricted set..
